La Feuillade is a beautiful period house dating from the late 18 th Century, set in a secluded enclosed 5 acre park with one hundred year old trees. The spacious and elegant family home is decorated in warm tones with tasteful antique furniture.
The house and grounds are situated in a small peaceful village near to the enchanting town of Brantome with its waterways and Rennaissance buildings, the picturesque village of St. Jean de Cole and Perigueux, the historic capital of the Dordogne , with its medieval streets, twice weekly markets and the new Gallo-Romain museum
A perfect setting for an extended family holiday or a holiday with friends. Be it in spring, with its gentle climate and the regenerating atmosphere of the park; or in summer, protected from the heat by the thick walls of the house and the natural covered walkways of the grounds.
There is a large swimming pool (13.5 by 6 metres), equipped with a solar powered shower and enclosed by discrete trellis fencing with adjacent areas for sunbathing.
An outside terrace, shaded by trees, serves as a summer dining-room with its barbeque tactfully housed in a former rabbit hutch.
Key facilities are all within easy reach. Hot croissants for breakfast, 20 metres from the main gate; two grocers and a butcher/charcuterie are also to be found in the local village. Major supermarkets are only 10 kilometres away.
There are marked bicycle and foot paths in the immediate vicinity and a golf-course, horse riding and canoeing within twenty minutes’ drive.
The property includes the main house, a garage, a large barn/games room and a utility room with a traditional bread oven and area for kneading dough.
The ground floor comprises a huge entrance hall and two interconnecting sitting rooms (one with a stone fireplace) leading onto a dining-room. The large fully equipped kitchen (including micro-wave, American style fridge with ice-cube maker, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine) has a traditional wooden farm table, large fruit wood cupboards and a stone fireplace. There are also ground floor toilets.
